Below I have compiled a list of all the tools and resources I use every day along with the reasons why and how best to use them.
I highly recommend that you add these to your Favourites/Bookmarks to use as starting points for your own Research.
If you are anything like me then be prepared to be come very familiar with Coin Market Cap and the refresh button.
Coin Market Cap is used globally by the vast majority of Cryptocurrency investors as a means to check the value of their coins and tokens daily (multiple times!). It provides Coin Values, the Market Cap Values of each coin, the total Market Cap of entire Crypto space and basic charting and ranking data.
You will note over time that multiple sources of information, and news outlets rely heavily on Coin Market Cap data.
Take some time exploring the site yourself and working out what appeals to you.
This is without a doubt the largest and most popular exchange in the Cryptocurrency world. Buying and selling is made very easy with a simple yet straight forward user interface. Ideal for anyone new to the space.
It currently provides the ability to buy and sell 4 Major Currencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.
Coinbase typically fill buy and sell orders very quickly and do provide exchange based Wallets (Vaults) if needed.
It does however have some drawbacks. Coinbase is one of the more expensive exchanges to use. Fees are charged to buy, sell and transfer funds on the exchange and these fees are marginally higher than most others.
I personally have always used Coinbase to purchase my Major Crypto and a means to then convert my Crypto back into Sterling/FIAT.
I regard Coinbase as safe and reliable, which can be hard to come by in this space.
In my opinion one of the best Charting Tools available.
I have used Trading View for years. It provides access to almost every single Technical Analysis/Charting tool/indicator you will ever need and its free!
If you choose to pay for their premium service then will be permitted to use multiple indicators at one time as well as additional perks.
I have only ever used the free service. Not because I’m cheap, but because its more than enough.
Getting into Technical Analysis and Charting will reward you infinitely and using Trading View as your starting point is a great pick.
If a Calendar were a Blockchain – this would be it.
Coin Market Cal is a Cryptocurrency calendar that is validated by the community it serves.
The calendar provides details of events, announcements and any other relevant news related to upcoming and historic dates for each Cryptocurrency.
The calendar provides value in that it can help investors to better understand why a price movement may have occurred or to help them plan for one. In this space news tends to drive the market more than the fundamentals.
Coin Market Cal helps you to keep up to date and close to news related to your Coins and Tokens.
Not your typical resource when it comes to making investment decisions, however Twitter seems to have become one of the platforms that experienced Cryptocurrency investors communicate through.
The key is to try and follow only people and groups that you can relate to and that aim to help rather than hinder. FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) alongside Fake News will mean that everything you read needs to be taken with a pinch of slat.
I have spent a lot of time considering who I follow so that whenever I log on my feed inspires me with new ideas and investment strategies.
A fantastic resource for information and help in getting quick answers to problems you may have.
I found Reddit is was a great way to start out in Crypto and most of my guides cite information from it. If you are stuck or have made a mistake, chances are someone else has done exactly the same thing and Reddit has the answer. Join and subscribe to some active forums.
A place where well thought out articles are prepared and published by amateur’s and experts alike.
Medium is the kind of site you want to visit when taking your research and interests further. You will come across just as many fact driven articles as you will opinion based ones so do be mindful of what you are reading. Most of the top level Founders, Directors and fellow Board Members of Coins and Tokens use Medium as way to communicate important messages to the community.
The WhatsApp of Cryptocurrency.
Almost all Coins and Tokens have their own Telegram group these days. It is used as a means for community members/investors to join and ask questions and get answers relatively fast, almost instantly. It can be a very useful tool. However, since it is largely policed by its own members it can sometimes get a little off topic and even toxic at times.
